Mein Zuhause

Description

Mein Zuhause is a quiet, visually driven short film about grief, memory, and care. I made this film as a way to process the loss of my grandfather, who had passed away five months earlier. The house in the film is his real home. By filming there, I created a final farewell, both to him and to the space that held so many memories.

In the story, Nicola and her brother return to the family home to pack it up after the death of their parents. While her brother rushes through the task, Nicola moves slowly through the house, drawn to the objects, rooms, and traces of the past. Through gestures of cleaning, touching, remembering, and restoring, she reconnects with what is no longer there.
